Commando shoots self by accident
A 24-year-old police commando posted with the newly constituted anti-terrorist vans was killed after his AK-47 rifle went off accidentally near PVR Priya complex in Vasant Vihar on Sunday morning.

Police said the victim, Anil Kumar — a resident of Rewari —was checking his rifle around 8.30 am on Sunday during a shift change when he accidentally pressed the trigger.
The commando was posted with the Delhi Armed Police (DAP) and had reported on duty at the Vajra van —an anti terrorist vehicle posted outside PVR Priya.
“He was checking his rifle when it went off accidentally. Three bullets were fired , one of which hit him in the arms and the other two in the chest. He was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where he was declared brought dead. His body has been sent for post-mortem,” said a police officer.
“The Vasant Vihar police is looking into the matter,” the police said.
