Compensation announced for the victims of the Naxal train attack

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs for the dead, Rs 1 lakhs for the critically injured and 10,000 for those with minor injuries in the Naxal train attack.

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakhs for the dead, Rs 1 lakhs for the critically injured and 10,000 for those with minor injuries in the Naxal train attack.

Nearly a dozen passengers were injured when six coaches of a passenger train derailed Thursday night after Maoist rebels blew up a stretch of railway track in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district.

Meanwhile other trains along the route have been diverted.
