Chairperson of the Environment Pollution Authority (EPCA) Bhure Lal on Tuesday expressed concern over the increase in the pollution level on account of various reasons including burning of leaves.

"Burning of leaves not only increases the level of pollution of Delhi but is also a contributing factor in global warming on account of gases being emitted on this account. The public, including the RWAs, should actively participate for minimising the menace of leaf burning in open," he said.
He was addressing the inaugural session of a workshop on issues related to the harmful effects of burning of leaves in parks and ways and means to tackle the same.
It was organised by the Delhi Parks and Garden Society of the Department of Environment, New Delhi.
