Congress chief Sonia Gandhi is likely to make a strong pitch for the bill — passed in the Rajya Sabha on March 9 — when she addresses a national convention of Seva Dal, a frontal grassroots organisation of the party, on Monday.

Gandhi is “committed and determined” to get the bill passed in the Lok Sabha.

She has been raising the issue at other forums such as the national convention on “Law, Justice and The Common Man” held on Saturday.

“Above all, we have remained true to Rajivji’s vision and our campaign promise, and have passed the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha. It now awaits the approval of the Lok Sabha,” Gandhi said.

She will speak to Seva Dal workers and convey the party’s commitment to the empowerment of aam aadmi in the form of women’s bill and other pro-poor welfare programmes.
