The young Congress ministers and MPs have actively got involved in the consultation process on the Hazare issue since the past few days.

The move has been prompted by the fact that Hazare has managed to bring the youth to the forefront of his anti-corruption movement.

To counter that, Congress managers decided to rope in its young ministers such as Sachin Pilot, Jitin Prasada, RPN Singh, Pradeep Jain Aditya and Milind Deora and MPs including Sandeep Dikshit, Ashok Tanwar and Meenakshi Natarajan.

The move also has the blessings of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

“We want to see the immediate end of the impasse. Reconciliation and persuasion is the need of the hour,” a young minister said.

Sources said these young ministers and MPs are being kept updated about the developments and the outcome of talks between the government and the Team Anna.

In tune with that, they did not waste a second in staging a protest in the Parliament house complex, accusing the BJP of forcing the adjournment of the Lok Sabha when the government had initiated a short duration discussion on the Lokpal issue.

Their intention was clear. They wanted to turn the tables on the BJP, which had so far been attacking the government and the Congress for not discussing the issue as per the wishes of Hazare and his team.

“After what Anna Hazareji had demanded, the government came forward and initiated the discussion. Now it is very unfortunate that BJP disrupted the house on the ground that they did not have enough time to prepare for the discussion,” Pilot said.
