"We have no problem with Left parties. They had a problem. They left us, we did not leave them," AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh said on Tuesday.

Singh's remarks to reporters are significant as it has come at a time when Congress allies like NCP are trying to build bridges with the Left which has been talking of building up a third alternative to Congress-led UPA and NDA headed by BJP.

His statement came close on the heels of reports that Lalu Prasad-led RJD has not given up hopes of a rapprochement with the Left as yet.

The RJD believes Left parties can come to UPA's rescue in post-poll scenario if existing constituents fail to cobble together a majority.

RJD Vice President Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, on being asked to comment on the possibility of Left and RJD joining hands, said "we have no disputes with the Left. Talks should be held with the Left."
