Contract killers held

Three alleged contract killers, including one who has links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's gang, were arrested in the Capital, the police said on Saturday.

Three alleged contract killers, including one who has links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's gang, were arrested in the Capital, the police said on Saturday.

The arrested have been identified as Mahesh (25), who allegedly has links with Dawood, and his associates Vipin (28) and Rakesh (30).

All the three have earlier been arrested in murder, attempt to murder, robbery and other heinous cases. All the three have also been arrested in Gangster Act. Three country-made pistols and eight live cartridges and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from their possession.

Mahesh is allegedly involved in 10 cases while Vipin is involved in eight cases. Rakesh was previously involved in 20 cases, police said.

"They were arrested yesterday from Bali Nagar Ring Road between Rajdhani College and ESI Hospital," V Renganathan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), said.
