A day after a woman and her grandson were killed when a building collapsed in West Delhi, the police on Monday arrested the contractor on charges of negligence.

The three-storied building under construction collapsed at Guru Nanak Dev Nagar in Tilak Nagar on Sunday evening, killing two people and injuring several others.
A Maruti Van was also damaged in the incident.
Fire personnel and the police worked for around six hours to rescue the trapped people.
The police said the contractor, Harpreet Singh, was allegedly illegally constructing the fourth floor of the house.
Forty-five-year-old Kamal Devi and her grandson Akshit (10) were crossing the building when it collapsed.
The police said several passers-by were trapped under the debris.
"Local people pulled out two children before rescue personnel reached the spot," said a police officer on condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.
Fire service personnel later pulled out Devi and Akshit. They were taken to
Maharaja Agrasen Hospital where they died.
The police said a five-year-old child, Ratan, is recovering and is out of danger.
The police are investigating what exactly caused the collapse.
