Jolted by the three consecutive bomb blasts that rocked Mumbai on Wednesday evening, Delhi Police and its counterparts from most northern states had a lot to discuss at the quarterly ‘Interstate Coordination meeting’ held at the Delhi Police headquarters on Thursday.

Ranjit Narayan, special commissioner of police (crime) said that with exactly a month to go before Independence Day celebrations, the said meeting, chaired by Delhi Police commissioner BK Gupta was crucial.
“Apart from sharing inputs about inter-state criminals and terrorists, several crucial procedures such as gathering of information from ground-level sources, ensuring each state has a complete database of those staying on rent and joint exercises in bordering areas were also discussed,” Narayan said.
Following the serial blasts in Mumbai, Delhi Police claimed to have completely rehauled their network of ground-level intelligence sources, deployed across Metro stations and malls.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police cyber cells are keeping a close eye on social networking websites. “The modes of communication have evolved and our methods of detecting threats must keep in line,” he said.
