Three years later, the Delhi Police have nothing on their hands but CCTV footage of a suspected SUV and several inter-connected dots linking the Mehrauli blast with the one that took place outside the Delhi High Court on May 25.

“The only evidence is the footage obtained from a CCTV installed outside a mall, near the spot, where the bikers dropped the bomb,” said a senior police officer on anonymity.

The footage shows a black Scorpio, suspected to be occupied by conduits of the accused duo performing a recce of the area on the previous evening.

But the only source of its identification — its rear number plate, is blurred.

Sources said the forensic examination of the unexploded device recovered from outside the high court on May 25 has helped the police ascertain that the same terror module had been at play in both cases.

“It can't be the Indian Mujahideen as their expert bomb maker — Aarij Junaid, is overseas. And the bombs in both cases had the same chemical combination,” the officer added.
