Two CDs with footages of shocking scenes of a teacher inflicting corporal punishment on large number of students in a government school in Rajpur Khurd has landed in the Delhi High Court.

On January 20, Chief Justice Dipak Misra had directed lawyer Ashok Aggarwal, who is arguing a PIL on poor state of government and MCD-run schools, to view the CD and file a report.
Poor People’s Foundation, an NGO, had sent them to the court with a forwarding letter, seeking action against the school. Aggarwal in his report said: "One teacher is clearly seen inflicting corporal punishment on large number of students by caning, slapping, ordering students to continue to keep their hands up, twisting ears and even pulling hair. A child is seen cleaning toilets, sweeping corridors and the ground of the school with a broom." The court will again take up the issue on April 4.
