On page 13 on November 11, Hindustan Times had a factually incorrect and misleading report under the headline, 'Biggest scam trial kicks off today'.

The report incorrectly said that Reliance group president AN Sethuraman, Reliance Capital Ltd's assistant vice-president Anand Subramaniam and Etisalat DB Telecom Pvt Ltd's chief regulatory officer Vinod Kumar Budhiraja are accused in the 2G scam case, which is being heard in a special CBI court.

The report should have said they are being examined as witnesses, and not as accused.

HT apologises for this error and wishes to clarify that there was no intention to malign anyone's professional and personal standing.

The report also incorrectly says D Subbarao is former governor of the RBI. He is, in fact, the serving governor of the central bank.
