Two residents of Multan Nagar have approached the Delhi High Court seeking compensation from the MCD for carrying out a selective demolition exercise. According to the petitioners, the MCD had pulled down their flats for excess coverage, while leaving the groundfloor flat of the same property untouched even though its been built on the same amount of area as the demolished flats.

Justice Gita Mittal has issued a notice to the MCD and Romesh Sabharwal, a Congress leader and son of the groundfloor flat owner from whom the petitioners had purchased the rights of the respective floors. Justice Mittal has directed the MCD to produce the case files. The MCD has also been asked to file an affidavit on the action taken against other properties in Multan Nagar. The case has been listed for October 30.
