The residential complex, which was built to house athletes during the 2010 Commonwealth Games, has been mired in controversies and only recently buyers of these flats have started moving in.

Though the residential complex boasts of 24X7 water and power supply and other amenities, the residents are facing a strange problem - they don't receive any letters, speed post or parcels at their home.

"We shifted to the Games village a month ago and I realised I was not getting any letters after my friends who had sent the post, asked about them," said Sangeeta Gupta, who works for Ekal Vidyalaya, an NGO.

Gupta, who is a social worker, is also associated with many other organisations and used to receive a lot of letters before she shifted to the village from her residence in New Rajender Nagar.

"To find out what was wrong, I posted letters to myself from my office through courier, speed post and normal post. The courier reached the next day, the speed post arrived after 10 days after making rounds of different post offices and the normal mail is yet to arrive," she said.

During the Games, a temporary post office was created at the complex and it was given the pin code 110090.

The Department of Posts admitted that there was some issue but assured that it would be sorted out.

"The area has been brought under the Laxmi Nagar post office with pin code 110092. Our officials would soon meet the residents and also put up boards and letter boxes in the area," said a senior official of the department's Delhi circle. "We would ensure that the residents face no problem in sending or receiving post in the future," he said.
