Daughter beats 85-year-old mother, neighbours film the incident

A mobile phone video clip showing an 85-year-old woman being assaulted by her 60-year-old daughter at their Kalkaji home in south Delhi was circulated widely on social media on Monday.

The assault was recorded by an octogenarian’s neighbour, who called the police control room (PCR) and reported the incident to the police.

After receiving the PCR call, a team from the Kalkaji police station visited the elderly woman’s house and asked her to file a complaint against her daughter. She, however, refused to lodge the complaint, saying it was a family issue and she did not want any action against her daughter, said a police officer.
