DDA invites allottees to speed up verification

If you have got a flat in the Delhi Development Authority's (DDA) housing scheme but are yet to receive the verification letter, you can approach the agency's office directly and submit the required documents till the end of this month.

Nearly 16,000 allottees, whose names were announced through a lucky draw of the DDA's recent housing scheme, were supposed to get verification letters by June 15. But, due to delay in correspondence in many cases, the land development agency has extended the deadline till June 30.

Those allottees, who are yet to receive the verification letters, can now directly meet the director (housing), DDA at its Vikas Sadan headquarters.

Though the DDA had said that the allotment of those who fail to submit the necessary documents by June 15 would be cancelled, sources said that it will accept the documents even after the new deadline.

The letters have been sent to allottees so they can furnish documents to prove their genuineness. "There has been some delays in the dispatch of the letters and though the new deadline is June 30, we would not immediately cancel flats for non-verification," said a senior DDA official.

Allottees would also have to declare in an affidavit that they or their spouse or dependents don't own any residential plot or house in Delhi. They would also have to bring one complete set of photocopies of all the documents attested by a gazetted officer or a notary.
