The Jodhpur district and sessions court on Thursday reserved its decision on self-styled godman Asaram’s plea to prevent the media from covering the proceedings of his case in court.

Judge Manoj Kumar Vyas also reserved a decision on an application seeking medicated food and various other facilities for Asaram in jail.
Decisions on both pleas are likely to be delivered on Friday.
Asaram, 72, has been in Jodhpur central jail since September 1 for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl in his Manai ashram near Jodhpur on August 15. He will remain in prison till September 15.
Arguing against medicated food being provided for Asaram, the prosecution told the court that his medical reports are normal and “the accused was not found suffering from any hazardous disease.”
Asaram’s lawyers, however, said their client requires some medicated food to follow a practice he has been following for a long time. They also said the Rajasthan jail manual permits undertrial inmates to get such food.
