A Delhi Police head constable, posted with the 7th battalion and currently training at the Police Training Centre (PTC) killed a businessman after robbing him of his gold chains. The incident took place at Pul Mithai flyover on Saturday night around 8.30pm. The head constable, identified as Ajay Kumar Tomar, didn’t stop there.

When local policemen tried to give him chase with the help of a biker, Tomar shot at the biker, too.

The biker, identified as Harender Singh (24), owns a mobile repair shop and is in a critical condition.

“After firing at businessman Amarjeet Singh Chadha (60) and Harender Singh, Tomar jumped off the flyover and suffered injuries. He is undergoing treatment; we are yet to record his statement,” said IB Rani, DCP (north).

Shocked by the incident, Mohit called Chadha’s brother Balbir Singh. “My brother pleaded with the cop to let him go but that was not to be,” Singh said.

Minutes later, a patrolling staff member reached the spot and saw Tomar fleeing.

One of the patrolling staff asked a biker, later identified as Harender Singh, to help him chase Tomar.

“As Harender neared Tomar’s bike, he again fired bullets, of which one hit Singh in the neck,” the officer added.

Tomar then jumped off the 30-feet high flyover. “He has suffered fractures in his leg. We are trying to get more details from him,” Rani added.
