The night temperatures in the Capital are rising consistently this June. The temperature on Wednesday, 33.7 degrees Celsius, was the season’s highest minimum at five degrees above normal. The maximum temperature, at 43.6 degrees, was also five degrees above normal.

The summer months have been made more uncomfortable by the long power cuts in Delhi. “There was no power in our colony from 2 am to 6 am. Sitting outside was no relief either as the temperature was too high,” said Raashi Kaul, a resident of Patparganj.
“We are facing power cuts every night for the past three days,” said Pallavi Joshi, a resident of Malviya Nagar.
However, there is some good news. The Met department has predicted light rainfall and thunder showers for Thursday. “There might be a little rain fall but the temperatures are expected to remain high,” said the weatherman.
