The Delhi government will go slow on expenditure, be it on new vehicles for official use or foreign trips. In fact, the government has also decided to extend the ambit of the rationalisation on fresh recruitments.

“Although there is no freeze on recruitment against existing posts, no new positions will be created without enough justification,” said a senior government official. The decisions were a part of a slew of guidelines approved by the Delhi cabinet on Monday for curtailing expenses.
