The Delhi High Court on Thursday sought response from the Centre and the Wrestling Foundation of India(WFI) on a plea for a direction for implementation of government's guidelines fixing tenure for the head of the sports body.
A division bench of Justice Vikramjit Sen and Justice Sidharth Mridul issued the notices to the Sports Ministry, WFI and its President G S Mander and sought their replies by April 6 on a petition filed by its former member K S Minhas, a retired IAS officer, who was sacked recently by the sports body.
Challenging his removal order through counsel Ravi Prakash Gupta, Minhas alleged Mander, who is in the fag end of his tenure, had called a General Council meeting on February 5 and passed a resolution sacking him from the membership, which was arbitrary.
