Dealers have complained that Haryana has reduced VAT from 12 to 8 per cent, which has now made diesel cheaper in places like Gurgaon and Faridabad by Rs 1.25 than Delhi.

“We have lost almost 30 per cent business to Haryana and it may go down by another 30-40 per cent if VAT in Delhi is not brought at par with Haryana,” said Anil Bijlani, general secretary, Delhi Petrol Dealers Association.
