A government school principal was on Thursday sent to Tihar jail for 14 days judicial custody for allegedly outraging the modesty of a student in the capital, police said.

Satpal Yadav, principal of Nagar Nigam Prathmik Vidyalaya in Pushp Vihar in south Delhi, was arrested after a 12-year-old Class 5 student in the same school alleged that she was repeatedly molested by her principal.
The girl told her parents that Yadav had been assaulting her after school hours for the last one month.
He agitated parents and relatives informed the police about the matter and made an unsuccessful attempt at lynching the accused, police said.
"We registered a case of molestation and the accused has been sent to 14 days' judicial custody by a women's court at Patiala House," a senior police official said.
