Delhi will win when you play nice

“We have the metro, low-floor AC buses and thousands of taxis available for tourists…But, no amount of planning without people’s participation can succeed,” said Dikshit.

“It is Delhiites who are going to make the Commonwealth Games (CWG) special.”

Dikshit was speaking at the Hindustan Times’ ‘My Delhi. My Games.’ Conclave — an initiative by Delhi’s most popular newspaper to celebrate the countdown to CWG 2010.

“No governments, no organizations can bring about the kind of warmth that the people of Delhi would bring,” said the CM during a discussion moderated by Yashwant Raj, Executive Editor North America, Hindustan Times.

Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister for Urban Development agreed, “The Games are going to leave behind a huge proud legacy. But also, there is a need to bring a change in cultural attitude,” he said.

“The change is happening and it makes us happy and proud,” she said.

“After all, Dilli dilwalon ki hai, aur hamesha rahegi. Sabko apne me sama leti hai.”
