Despite a boom, the design industry remains unorganised and lacks the benefits of an industry body.

Without industry status, design is not able to grow.

The talent pool of probable design hires is getting too expensive. At the same time, design-related budgets are still comparatively low.

From a product design perspective, there are not enough willing engineers to take ideas and designs and turn them into real stuff.

Several international players are eyeing the design market and are looking to set up base here.
