struggle for many as their results were not declared at the time of admission and the struggle to get themselves registered would begin.

“The students are much happier with the application process this year. They do not have to attach any certificates at the time of admission and do not have to suffer at the hands of the state examination boards either. The applicants have the option of picking and choosing from the courses where they meet the cut-off,” said a member of Students for Social Justice, an organisation that works with students from reserved categories.

“The online form may be free but I have to go to a cyber café to fill it out. If I need any help from the owner, he charges Rs 50 per form. There is no point making the online forms free as very few people have access to them. Those who have computers at home also have the ability to pay Rs 50 for the form,” said Surinder Kumar, an aspirant.
