DPS, RK Puram celebrates Indo-Swiss friendship

Delhi Public School, RK Puram, Embassy of Switzerland and Delhi Public School Society celebrated 2012 as the year of Indo-Swiss friendship.

Delhi Public School, RK Puram, Embassy of Switzerland and Delhi Public School Society celebrated 2012 as the year of Indo-Swiss friendship. A workshop was held at DPS RK Puram which saw the presence of Martin Strub, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Switzerland New Delhi. Sarah Baettig, Officer- Projects, Events and Education, Embassy of Switzerland, New Delhi conducted the workshop in which the topic covered was Indo-Swiss bi-lateral relations. The objective of the project was to enable discovery of similarities and diversities between India and Switzerland, thereby highlighting existing bilateral relations and paving the way for strengthening and expanding the same.

Eight students and a teacher represented St. Mark’s Senior Secondary School, Meera Bagh, at the International Friendship Week organised by Nyborg Friskole, Nyborg, Denmark. The students stayed with host families at Nyborg and got a true taste of Danish lifestyle, cuisine and culture. They attended the classes with their Danish friends and got an insight into the education system of Denmark and got a glimpse of the education systems of Singapore, Japan, Germany and Italy as they interacted and collaborated with students from these countries as well. The students witnessed a musical staged by the students of the host school Nyborg Friskole-Moulders Melody. The delegation comprised of Mayank Sharma, Mayank Rawal, Garwit Gawri, Chirag Chawla, Palak Hajela, Tanya Gupta, Shibangi Arora and Christina Sharon. They were escorted by Geeta Rajan, Global Coordinator.

Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, celebrated Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) Day. Brigadier HPS Dhillon, VSM Dy MD, AWES was the chief guest. AWES came into existence on April 29, 1983. It is a non-profit organisation which provides quality education to the wards of army personnel. A melodious extravaganza "Hamare Shaan Hai" composed by Komal Bhardwaj was put up by the primary wing choir.
