DU's weekend book bazaar to be delight for bookworms

Aptly called the 'Delhi Weekend Book Bazaar', the National Book Trust (NBT) has organised the event as part of its celebrations related to the centenary year celebrations of Delhi becoming the capital of modern India.

On offer are a wide variety of books including thematic ones on art, culture, and medicine. "For the first time, in tune with the concept of weekly book bazaars, publishers are free to offer maximum discount and also sell their old, rare and antique books," said Satish Kumar, director of NBT.

The idea for the Weekend Book Bazaar - with 100-odd publishers and nearly 150 specially designed pagoda style stalls - is to connect the book culture with popular culture, Kumar said.

Dina Nath Malhotra, emeritus president of the Federation of Indian Publishers, will inaugurate the bazaar on Friday.
