Delhi University's students are now taking matters into their own hands to ensure that the varsity's women are provided optimum security.

The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) has drafted a memorandum which demands a uniform women helpline number, installation of CCTV cameras and GPS systems in public transport vehicles and increased patrolling by women PCR vans in the north campus area.
“We will be sending a memorandum containing demands and suggestions that will ensure the safety of women. We will forward this to the higher authorities and request them to implement it soon,” said Arun Hooda, president DUSU.
Students of Indraprastha College too had submitted a memorandum to the Lt Governor's office demanding immediate action to be taken to fortify the college premises as well the hostel area.
