The emergency BAI meeting was convened by its President V K Verma in the capital but he consulted his lawyer after receiving the order of Civil Judge (Senior Division) Mohanlalganj, Lucknow and decided to call off the parley.

However, representatives of 25-27 state associations gathered in the city and had some informal interaction after the meeting did not take place as scheduled.

The BAI infighting recently touched a crescendo with its General Secretary Vijai Sinha accusing Verma of taking "unlawful" and "unwarranted" decisions and running the show in an "autocratic" way.

Sinha recently had circulated a letter to all the state units calling a BAI executive committee meeting in Lucknow on July 31.

However, Verma has also convened another BAI executive committee meeting on August 13 in Hyderabad.
