Eyewitnesses at the blast site narrated how the blast ripped through the Delhi High Court gate number 5 and forever changed lives of innocent bystanders. Rahul Gupta, a PIL activist said, "I was standing in the queue at the reception office of gate number 5 to get the visiting pass when the high-intensity bomb went off near the senior citizens/handicapped window. I saw people in a pool of blood, screaming for help."

RP Luthra, an advocate in the Delhi High Court said, "I, along with my driver and two other advocates were standing in the parking lot, that is barely 50m from the spot. We saw smoke and immediately went to the place where several people were lying injured."

Abdul Karim Ansari, an advocate said the blast was "like lightning."

He added, "I had just entered the court premises when people started screaming for help all around. There was someone whose shirt was drenched in blood; someone was using his hands to keep a part of his left thigh in place."

Construction worker Mohan Nath Dubey said, "The cement-mixer was on, so initially we didn't even know there had been an explosion. When I turned back, I saw the entire gate splattered with blood and jumped across to help the injured."
