Pathfinder Health — a venture funded by social entrepreneurs, clinicians and businessmen — is setting up family medicine centres in India, based on National Health Service’s model.

“We want to revive the concept of family doctor, the disapperance of which is leaving people at the mercy of either corporate hospitals or roadside clinicians with questionable degrees,” said Dr Niti Pall, CMD, Pathfinder Health.

“We want to establish an effective health model that delivers high-quality, low-cost primary healthcare meeting international standards. We aim to give at least 12 minutes of a clinician's time to each patient so that the doctor shares a personal rapport with each one,” she said.
