This comes a day after HT published a story on the plight of his three children, who were left alone after their mother was killed in an accident.

Also, offers for help has started pouring in for Preeti (5), Shivam (2) and Saina (1) from across the world.

"I am deeply moved and wish to assist authorities in whatever way to make life of Preeti, Shivam and Saina comfortable," Pankaj Jain, an architect from Gurgaon wrote in an e-mail to HT.

A research scholar from Germany, Shuchi Gupta said, "I read in your newspaper about the sad and unexpected death of Meenakshi. I would like to help the kids and would like to offer monetary help to them."

Meenakshi alias Meenu (27) was killed on June 3 when the taxi she was travelling in was hit by a speeding Mercedes convertible allegedly being driven by the son of a rich politician.

The children were produced before a magistrate and were sent to Children's Welfare Home in Sarita Vihar.

"I am deeply disturbed after reading the story. Is there any way us citizens can help?," said Prashant Agarwal, First Secretary (Political), Embassy of India, Bangkok.

HGS Dhaliwal, deputy commissioner of police (south), said, "The victim's body is still lying in the mortuary at AIIMS. We have traced her husband."
