FIR confirms terror plot

To ensure that the blasts take place "two circuits" were used by the bomber — one at 11.30 am and the other at 1.50 pm. This was done to ensure maximum damage as a large crowd had gathered after the tourist attack.

Hindustan Times has the possession of the First Information Report (FIR) filed the same day at Jama Masjid police station, which says a "low pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was planted in the car."

The FIR also states, "two circuits were used to ensure the surety of the blast by the planter." What's scary is the bomber was present in the area for about two and a half hours till the explosion occurred and probably mingled with the crowd. Police have now asked the television channels for the unedited tapes from various television channels to get any clue.

The blast took place around 2pm and about 45 minutes later when a Special Cell team arrived, the police realised that a blast had taken place and the area was cordoned off. “The moment we realised it was a bomb, we got the detection squad, cordoned off the area," said Dadwal.
