According to police, the fire was reported from the air-conditioner duct of the casualty ward around 8:20 pm.

“Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was doused almost immediately,” said a senior police officer.

Police said a short circuit in the wiring was the reason behind the blaze and no casualties were reported.
