According to airport sources, the Mumbai-bound flight was carrying 118 passengers and eight crew members. “Kingfisher flight IT304 took off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport at 8.50am for Mumbai. But soon an alarm went off and the pilot announced that the flight was returning to the Delhi airport,” said Devendra Goyal, a passenger.
The pilot requested the air traffic controller in Delhi for an emergency landing and the plane landed safely at 9.08am, airport officials said.

A Kingfisher airline spokesperson said the pilot decided to return as he received a safety alert from some system soon after the flight took off from Delhi.

“The aircraft landed safely and taxied on its own to the parking bay,” he said.
