Fifteen flights were on Thursday delayed after a thick blanket of fog engulfed the capital, reducing the Runway Visibility Range below 1000 metres.

The airliners had to reschedule a number of flights to several domestic destinations, airport sources said. Also, a Spice Jet flight from Mumbai to Delhi was diverted to Jaipur.
The airport authorities had to initiate No Visibility Procedure at 6.54 am As the RVR was very low, the sources said. The RVR should be above 1500 metres for normal flight operations.
About a dozen flights were delayed yesterday also due to the fog.
Meanwhile, the Met department has predicted swallow fog for the next two days.
The minimum temperature on Thursday morning was recorded at 13.5 degree Celsius, four degree above normal. The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 27.3 degree Celsius while the minimum was 12.7 degree Celsius.
The gradual rise in temperature is attributed to the arrival of western disturbances in the region. The temperature is likely to fall in the next few days, the weatherman said.
The capital is expected to experience mainly clear sky in the next few days.
