“He is the Law Minister and supposed to uphold country's law...if there is an allegation of forgery, then it is unfortunate. The matter requires to be inquired into,” BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said in Bangalore.

Party leader Siddharth Nath Singh said Khurshid should step down for a fair trial to take place. “What we saw today was an aggressive but not a convincing Salman Khurshid. There are questions but we aren’t getting answers. These we will get only through a free and fair enquiry,” he said.

The main opposition party had demanded the law minister’s resignation on Saturday itself.
