A city court on Monday allowed former model Geetanjali Nagpal to spend three months at a school in Haryana after she sought discharge from VIMHANS Hospital, where she has been provided psychiatric help for nearly two months.

Nagpal, in accordance with a magistrate’s order under the Mental Health Act, was admitted to the hospital on September 3 after she was found begging on the streets of the Capital.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ravinder Bedi allowed her plea for admission in Vidya Devi Jindal Girls School at Hisar, where she can pursue an array of vocational courses in the company of her mother. The court also directed the school authorities to file fortnightly reports on her health and rehabilitation.
A photojournalist had spotted Nagpal, who had become mentally unstable, begging in Hauz Khas area of South Delhi.
Nagpal once walked the ramp for top designers and was a contemporary of the likes of Bollywood star Sushmita Sen.
