A 48-year-old former woman official of the RAW caused a stir in the Delhi High Court on Thursday when she partially stripped twice before the judge.

Nisha Bhatia stripped for the first time in the open court and the second time when the judge was holding an in-camera proceeding of her case later after asking all other lawyers and litigants to leave the court. The judge immediately ordered security personnel to take her out of the courtroom and produce her before a mental hospital for a complete check-up. The drama unfolded inside courtroom number 30 of the court presided over by justice Ajit Bharihoke.
As per the court, at 10:45am when the judge was hearing other matters, Nisha, wearing a jacket and trousers, barged into the court and bared her chest. A petition filed by her seeking quashing of ‘attempt to suicide’ case against her is pending in the court. She had earlier leveled sexual harassment charges against a senior official in RAW.
“She was advised to behave but continued with her obnoxious behaviour. Consequently, I was forced to retire to my chamber and directed that she be taken out of the courtroom by some women constables and this matter be postponed,” said the judge.
Justice Bharihoke said when the matter was taken up in a post-lunch “in-camera” session, she again “created a scene and again took out her jacket and started to unrobe herself” (sic.).
The judge noted Nisha’s “behaviour” in “baring herself in open court is highly deplorable and not expected of a normal person”. “It gives an impression that the petitioner is not mentally sound,” he said

She is also stated to have attempted suicide in front of the PM’s office. Considering her background, the court said, “It leaves a lingering doubt in the mind about her mental condition for which she needs to be medically examined”. The court ordered that she be taken to Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences and admitted there for a complete check-up.
