RSS candidate Nitin Gadkari will be formally elected as the BJP president on Tuesday.

"It is a mere formality. Gadkari has already been unanimously chosen as BJP President by the party's Parliamentary Board in December," a senior party leader said, preferring anonymity.
The whole process of nomination, scrutiny, counting and declaration of results will be completed in a few hours as other than Gadkari, no leader will file his nomination for the post, party sources said.
Senior BJP leader Thawar Chand Gehlot, who is the overall in-charge of the organisational elections from the district to the Central level, will oversee the process.
BJP also fulfilled the condition of holding organisational elections in atleast half of the states last week when polls for choosing state presidents were completed in 18 states.
Gadkari is an RSS nominee for the BJP top post and his name was cleared in August last year. The Sangh wants to end infighting among the top brass and is now virtually running the party.
Gadkari's election will later be ratified by the National Council to be held in Indore in the coming week.
