Police have busted a gang which was allegedly producing and distributing pirated DVDs, CDs and pornographic films in the capital.
The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police arrested Ranjesh Kumar Singh in this case. Another member of the gang is absconding, police said.
The EOW had got a complaint that the gang was doing piracy of Hindi, English and pornographic films in Badarpur area in South Delhi. Police sleuths conducted a raid on Neha Music and Electricals in Mithapur on Thursday.
Police seized 12,340 pirated DVDs of different Hindi, English films and pornographic films. Seven DVD writers, including huge inlay card and packing materials, worth Rs one crore were also seized, police said.
Singh told the police that he and his partner were distributing these films in and around Delhi.
