The agency staff’s rude behaviour with an applicant for a new connection reportedly provoked the violent act.

“Two of our staffers were seriously injured and were admitted in hospital. Their only fault was that they had asked a person to get his affidavit made again, as it was quite old, on Saturday morning.

The applicant had left the agency in a huff, threatening to teach our staffers a lesson,” said Ashok Yadav, owner of Gurgaon Gas Agency.

A case of vandalising and assault has been registered against eight persons at the Civil Lines police station. Two persons have also been rounded up in connection with the case.
