Delhi police on Saturday informed a Delhi court that airhostess Geetika Sharma had "terminated her pregnancies". While seeking police HR manager Aruna Chaddha's custody, police told the court that she was needed to identify and verify the places where Sharma was taken to terminate her pregnancies. HT reports.

Her family members, however, said they had no knowledge of the matter. Chaddha's custody was extended by a day after the police said they were yet to recover crucial documents pertaining to the victim.

The documents belong to an educational society formed by the MDLR group, whose president was Sharma.

"Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of offence and the fact that police investigation could not be completed because of holiday (Janmashtami)… one-day police remand of accused is necessary," the court said.

The police had sought Chaddha's custody for two days, saying she did not cooperate during questioning about former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda's hideouts, whose name along with Chaddha's, figures in Sharma's suicide note.

Advocate BS Rana, who appeared for Chaddha, opposed the plea for police custody, saying she had been in police custody for the past three days and had even joined the investigation prior to that on receiving a notice.
