Goel hits back at Maken

A day after Maken asked Goel to talk about the work he had done during his tenure as a minister in the NDA government and as the MP from Chandni Chowk and Sadar, Goel hit back by saying that Maken has not finished any work that he took up as Minister of State for Urban Development.

“Right from the time he was a minister in the Delhi government, Maken has only hoodwinked people through false and lofty promises while none of his assurances have ever materialised,” Goel said.

“The Master Plan for Delhi is yet not ready and the government has only been asking for moratoriums every year. The sealing drive would start once again if the Congress comes back to power,” he said.

Goel also claimed that slum dwellers are yet to get a single flat, which were promised to them in the scheme to develop in situ accommodation for them.

“Maken has also hoodwinked people living in unauthorised colonies by promising regularisation, which is yet to happen,” he said.

He also alleged that Maken has not visited the New Delhi constituency after being elected from there in the last Lok Sabha elections.

“Why is he shying away from setting his past achievements and future agenda in public domain rather than making unfounded allegations on issues on which people have already given their verdict,” Maken said.
