In a letter to the high court chief justice Dipak Misra and chief minister Sheila Dikshit, law minister M Veerappa Moily said: "A special CBI court should be exclusively set up for the trial of the 2G case at the earliest and no other case should be transferred to the new court."

"It should be notified as a sessions court, which will have the power to conduct trial in money laundering cases under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act," the minister stated.

Moily's letter followed the Supreme Court direction to the government on February 10. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had informed the court that it will file the first chargesheet in the 2G spectrum scam against former telecom minister A Raja and three other accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act by March 31.
