The country’s top all-India level service, the Indian Administrative Service, is lagging behind in disclosing assets of its officers for 2012. The other two all-India services, Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service, have placed the assets and liabilities report of its officers in public domain.

IAS Officers still to disclose assets for 2012
The country’s top all-India level service, the Indian Administrative Service, is lagging behind in disclosing assets of its officers for 2012. The other two all-India services, Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service, have placed the assets and liabilities report of its officers in public domain. As per a government decision of 2011, the annual asset statements of officers of three all India services had to be placed in public by June-end every year.

DoPT to train officers on how to reply to RTI queries
Eyebrows are being raised at the Department of Personnel and Training’s plan to train Central Public Information Officers on providing replies to the queries under the Right to Information Act. Some officers believe that the training is being given to ensure that minimum information is provided to citizens without invoking the penalty clause of the RTI Act.

New plan secy eases out tension in planning panel
The uneasiness between the political appointess and bureaucracy in the planning commission has been eased out with new plan panel secretary Sindhushree Khullar in control. She made it a point to personally visit each plan panel member and talk about their issues with them. And in most cases she made the panel's bureaucracy receptive to the members. It helped in ending the two-year-long tension in the panel when Sudha Pillair was the secretary.
