As Mukul Roy becomes the new railway minister, a reshuffle among his office staff is also imminent. While Roy is set to bring a private secretary and an additional private secretary from his earlier office (MoS for Shipping), the fate of others who served under Roy's predecessor Dinesh Trivedi hangs in balance. Apart from a few Bengali officers, media consultant to railway minister T. Munnawar is also waiting to hear from Roy about his possible adjustment in the new set up.

Rajan S Katoch takes over as new director of ED
Rajan S. Katoch, 1979 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre has taken over as the new director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED is all set to get some more special directors, additional directors and joint directors. AGMU cadre IPS officer of 1990 batch, Tajen-dra Singh Luthra's name is in circulation as the new special director in Chandigarh. Another AGMUS cadre IPS officer RP Upadhyay, who is already serving in the ED as additional director, has been cleared for a UN posting in Italy but he is yet to take up the new assignment. If he stays in the ED, he is also likely to be promoted as the special director. He may remain in the ED as zonal special director in Delhi or Mumbai. Two ED deputy directors — Sharad Chaudhry and Rajeshwar Singh — have given their consent for absorption in the organisation. Current Delhi zone head and joint director Prabhakant's tenure in the ED is coming to an end in the next few months, it is still not clear whether he is going to stay in the ED or not.
