New Central Information Commissioner AN Tiwari seems to be in a hurry. He wants the Central Information Commission to identity areas where the government should disclose information voluntarily. Earlier, he had asked information commissioners to examine their orders and judgments of various courts to inform the government regarding information, which can be disclosed voluntarily. All this has to be completed within 15 days. Obviously, he wants to do this before his term ends in December.

MCD officers get dubious first
Six officers from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi created a record of sorts when they were penalised together for not providing information to an RTI applicant on time. The CIC imposed a fine of R25,000 on each of them for failing to give satisfactory answer for the delay’s reason.

Because, it seems civil engineering departments made ignorance of the minimum requirements into such big excuses — no one believes them though — for clearing poor quality constructions during the Commonwealth Games that the CVC’s technical examiner decided to end any future use of it. Guess engineers who are on the take will have to come up with a new excuse to defend approval to poor quality construction.
