Haryana BJP chief forcibly opens Badarpur flyover

The Badarpur-Faridabad flyover, scheduled for a trial run on October 5, became a controversial topic with the Haryana BJP chief Krishenpal Gujjar for forcibly inaugurating it on Friday. Prabhu Razdan reports.

Gujjar, an MLA from Tigaon assembly constituency in Faridabad, accompanied by a large number of party functionaries, lifted the barricade on the newly constructed flyover and declared it open for public.

The construction company, Hindustan Construction Company, officials informed the police who immediately rushed to the spot.

When asked, Gujjar said, "Since the Surajkund Road will remain closed during the Games, the daily commuters of Faridabad to Delhi will suffer the most. When the flyover was ready, there was no justification for not opening it for the public."

Soon after Gujjar and his men left, the construction company again put barricades on the flyover.
